Dr. H. Ray Childers Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established through an estate gift of Dr. Childers, who was a professor at Drury teaching political science.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Award to sophomore and may continue thru Junior & Senior years
  • Award on basis of financial need
  • Must have a 3.5 GPA during all years, have strong motivation to complete Liberal Arts program, full daytime undergraduate

Drury Women's Auxiliary Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Drury Women's Auxiliary.

  • First preference: women in junior or senior years
  • Women with GPA which is predictive of academic success
  • Financial hardship or unique financial circumstance

Dr. Oscar G. and Bessie S. Fryer Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was created in honor of Dr. Oscar Fryer and his wife Bessie. Dr. Oscar graduated from Drury in 1925 with a major in mathematics and a minor in elementary education. He taught at Drury for many years and passed away at the age of 103.
Restriction for the scholarship:

  • Student that need financial help, no other restrictions

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Hearst Foundation, Inc. in honor of William Randolph Hearst. The Hearst Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1945 by philanthropist William Randolph Hearst.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Awarded to academically gifted student(s) with significant financial needs
  • Restricted to domestic students

Helen Volker Jones Endowed Theatre/Drama Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Eugene V. Jones and Dorsey W. Jones, the children of Helen Volker Jones. Helen graduated from Drury in 1920 with a major in English. She was very active in the theatre department while at Drury.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Can be awarded to a freshman
  • Continue as long as he/she continue academic grades
  • Students studying theatre/drama preferred
  • Must have need of financial aid

James E. McClure II Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by James and Betty McClure in memory of their son. In 1967, James II graduated from Drury with a major in history.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Financial need
  • Social Science major
