Raymond Aton Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established through memorial gifts upon Raymond Aton's death. Ray graduated Drury in 1937 with a major in English. Ray served as a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1970 to 1993. His wife, Nancy Jones Aton, also attended Drury as a member of the class of 1946.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • A female from a public high school in Springfield, MO
  • Above average in their GPA and ACT
  • Student who needs financial aid

Ormal Creach Camdenton Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Ormal Creach. Ormal graduated from Camdenton, MO High School and wanted to make an education at Drury available to graduates of Camdenton. Ormal was a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1977 to 1996.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Highest ranking student from the graduating Camdenton, MO
  • High School class or a Creach descendant

Ormal Creach Macks Creek Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Ormal Creach because he wanted to make an education at Drury available to students from Mack's Creek, MO High School.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Student or students from Mack’s Creek, MO
  • High School or it can be awarded to a Creach descendant

Ed and Mary Deck Endowed Scholarship

Ed Deck graduated from Drury in 1967, majoring in business administration. Ed and Mary both graduated from Buffalo, MO High School, which is their primary reason for establishing this scholarship.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Buffalo, MO High School graduate with GPA of 3.2 and an ACT 24 or higher
  • Freshman GPA 2.75 or higher, 3.0 GPA thereafter
  • Four year scholarship as long as requirements are met

Elliott Family Endowed Scholarship

Hayward and Margaret Riepe Elliott were both class of 1938 at Drury.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Students from Cabool, MO High School
  • Full-time status - good grades - can be awarded for 4 years

The Merrifield Huff Family Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1984 by Lottie Huff. Lottie graduated from Drury in 1913 with a major in speech communication. Several members of the Huff family have attended Drury.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Preference to students from St. Francois County in Missouri
  • If none, award to any student(s) with financial need

William Davis Huff Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the estate of Dorothy Huff Trigg in honor of William Davis Huff. Dorothy graduated from Drury in 1913 with a major in English.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Preference to student from St. Francois County in Missouri
  • If none, award to student(s) with financial need

John and Ruth Hulston Endowed Scholarship for Dade County

This scholarship was established by John K. and Ruth Hulston.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Students from Dade County/High Schools of Greenfield, Everton, or Dadeville in Missouri

John and Ruth Hulston Endowed Scholarship for Billings

This scholarship was established by John K. and Ruth Hulston.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Students from Billings, Missouri

John K. Hulston Endowed Scholarship for Ash Grove - Walnut Grove

This scholarship was established by John K. and Ruth Hulston. Ruth attended Drury as a member of the class of 1943. John graduated from Drury in 1936 with a major in economics and a minor in history. He served as a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1974 to 1996 and from 1997 to 2004. John was an attorney, businessman, and author.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First priority to students from Western half of Greene County or students from Ash Grove or Walnut Grove, Missouri

Mildred Case Junge Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mildred Case Junge and her daughter, Carol Loomis. Mildred graduated from Drury in 1927. She was also a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Student must be from Marshfield or Cole Camp, Missouri
  • Awarded for 4 years if student maintains grades

Charles M. LeCompte Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established through Mr. LeCompte’s estate gift. He was a 1965 graduate of Drury and a well know attorney.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Must be awarded to student living within 60 miles of Springfield, Missouri

Milo D. Letsch Jr. Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Bud and Dixie Letsch in memory of their son, Milo D. Letsch Jr. Milo was a member of the 1992 class of Glendale High School in Springfield, MO.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Student from Glendale High School
  • Must maintain a 2.75 GPA
  • 4 years of scholarship if GPA is maintained
  • Average or modest financial background
  • Student displaying honesty, integrity and hard work

Loren Nakashima Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Richard Nakashima in honor of his brother, Loren.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First choice: graduate from Richland, Stoutland, Ozark or Kickapoo High Schools in Missouri. Methodist faith preferred
  • Minimum 2.7 GPA

Steve and Patsy Palmer Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Stephen K. and Patsy Palmer. Stephen graduated from Drury in 1962 with a major in geology.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First preference shall be given to the lineal descendants of Irene Palmer, Stephen's mother. Applicants shall provide proof, such as a birth certificate to the University.
  • Second preference is for a graduate of Rogersville, MO High School.
  • Provided no student meets the first or second preference, award to any student

Pamela Sue Russell Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Russell in memory of their daughter, Pamela. Pamela graduated from Drury in 1977 with a major in sociology.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First preference: female graduate of Bolivar, MO High School
  • Second preference: female graduate of another Polk County, MO High School
  • Third preference: to any other deserving student
  • 4 Year Scholarship

Arch W. Shaw Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Arch W. Shaw Foundation of Breech Tree, MO.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First preference: student from Oregon County, MO in either day school Springfield campus or evening school Thayer campus
  • Second preference: Ripley, Carter, Howell or Shannon counties in Missouri
  • Students have to be in good academic standing to continue to receive scholarship

Frederick, Charline, and Napier Shelton Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Charline Shelton in honor of her husband, Frederick Shelton. Frederick majored in economics and graduated from Drury in 1916. He also served as a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1942 until 1956.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First priority: student from Marshfield or Webster Counties in Missouri
  • If none, can be awarded to anyone

Stevens Junior Achievement Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Arthur Stevens. He served as a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1974 to 1984.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • First preference: to junior achievement students from Kansas City
  • Second: any junior achievement student
  • Third: students studying business administration

Bill and Ann Turner Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Bill and Ann Turner. Bill Turner served as a member of the Drury Board of Trustees from 1980 to 1983.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Restricted to student from Mansfield, MO
