CCPS (formerly CGCS) Scholarships


Marcia Cooper Endowed Scholarship

Up to $750 available per semester to cover tuition and textbooks (no cash refunds).

Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Female, working adult student and/or out of school for a minimum of five years
  • need based (must complete FASFA form)
  • Intent to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration
  • first 2 semesters
  • 3.0 minimum GPA 

Ethel Parker Graham Cole Endowed Scholarship

Ethel Parker Graham Cole received her degree in 1963 as an evening student. Upon her death her 3 children donated their inheritance from her estate to Drury to establish an endowed scholarship in her memory.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Students studying in the evening college who is a single custodial parent
  • Students preparing for careers in social work, education, or other helping professions. 

Adelaide Haseltine Jones Endowed CED Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor Adelaide Jones for her efforts in 1948 to make the Evening College at Drury became a reality. She felt that all community members should be able to enjoy the privilege and rewards of a college education.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Only evening students eligible

Randal Mabrey Endowed Scholarship

Wilma Mabrey established this scholarship in memory of her son Randal. He graduated from Drury in 1998 with a major in criminal justice.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Married male student in evening college

James L. Nickle Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Shirley Nickle as a memorial to her husband James Nickle. James taught in the fields of sociology and psychology at the Drury satellite campuses of Fort Leonard Wood and Cabool. Shirley continues to teach where her husband taught.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Students studying sociology or psychology at Fort Leonard Wood or Cabool campuses

John "Jack" and Sally Bodlovich Tharp Endowed Paralegal Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Sally Tharp in memory of her husband Jack. Upon Sally’s death, a bequest from her estate was added to the scholarship.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • Student must be in paralegal program with financial need

Thomas H. and Bonnie L. Reese Memorial Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Margaret Jane Reese Fox and Dr. Jeffrey T. Reese through the Thomas H. and Bonnie L. Reese Family Foundation in memory of their parents Thomas H. and Bonnie L. Reese.
Restrictions for the scholarship:

  • One CGCS undergrad student studying biology or subjects in pre-health area
  • First priority will be for a single parent with good academic standing
  • If none, a need base student with good academic standing
  • Scholarship is for the Springfield campus only
