James “Isaac” Cody '02
Isaac Cody ’02 wants to give back. A product of small-town Missouri, he chose Drury University to continue his education because of the tight-knit community and support the college provides. Without the help of Drury alumni, he would have never had the opportunity to learn and grow at Drury, making him the business professional he is today.
Now the Senior Director of Operations Finance and Strategy for the Pacific Division of Walmart Stores, Cody values his time at Drury that gave him the right set of tools to be successful in any industry. Cody places great emphasis on Drury’s ability to give its students a community in which they are safe to make decisions and take risks unavailable in the business world. Now that he faces high-stakes decisions every day, Cody has the confidence to take calculated risks that create value for diverse stakeholders.
A scholarship student during his Drury years, Cody respects Drury donors that allowed him the opportunity to gain a valuable education, and he wants to do the same for current students. He feels the importance of awarding young people scholarships for their achievements, keeping the cost of education affordable, and inspiring these students to become strong members of the community.
